ARE YOU BEING A GIRL BOSS???

I guess you must have heard this word over the internet, a lot these days. Girls are flaunting tees with #GIRLBOSS and all. According to me this word stands for being powerful, being out there and standing up for yourself and your dreams. All of this is fantastic and moreover is in trend. But do we girls really need it?

Do we really need a word and this trend to define how powerful we are as individuals?

I am no where here trying to portray that I am against it all or anything. As a matter of fact, may be somewhere even I could have used it, Because who minds following the trend, right?
So let's try and understand this funda of trends and the reason why we girls or FEMALES in particular need to always define and prove our individuality.

Let's begin from the beginning!
I am sure everyone who has some knowledge of Indian history must have heard about RANI LAXMI BAI OF JHANSI. If not, then let me tell you that she was a woman, who played several roles at a young age, in order to protect her country. She was a princess, a wife, a warrior and a mother too. You can watch her life story through this movie called MANIKARNIKA. Staring kangana ranaut, which is releasing soon. Every Indian or every asian, knows who she was and what all she did in order to save her country. Do you think that she needed any hashtags or any man or  anybody to do, what she did?

Definitely not!

Being a social media enthusiast, I know the power of these hashtags and trends. But I think that sometimes in order to make the world know about how strong women are. We end up doing things, which shows that we still aren't. The funny part is that no one else does this but we ourselves. If we know how strong we are and in our minds if we are girl bosses than why we need to still talk about it as an issue. Metro has a reserved compartments for "LADIES". They could have had one for mens as well. Then why only a "LADIES COMPARTMENT" is there. Doesn't that separates us from the men?

Why do we need such things, when on the other side we say that we are equal. Where is the equality?Just in talks and in our minds. Instead of speaking about how empowered we are, instead there should be talks that why do we need to get these special facilities. There are women, who work all day without breaks. Do you think such a women needs any sort of different facility. We could have compartments for handicaps or people who genuinely need that special treatment without judging them by their gender. Metro has few seats reserved for specially challenged and handicaps and a whole compartment for women. Is that really fair?

How are we looking there; Laxmi bai did what she thought is right and made a mark. Likewise every individual doesn't need anything to prove himself or herself at power. Our work speaks for ourselves and that is how it should be. You will get that respect of being at power by just doing your thing. And even if not, then too why is it an issue. We should know who we are and doesn't need the world to tell us anything.

So stop looking for such things to hang on. As we can instead work even harder to achieve whatever we want and that will in true sense will make us a "GIRL BOSS".

TREAT EQUALLY
STAY POSITIVE,
YOURS TRULY,
MANORI.
