DELHI TO VRINDAVAN: PART 2 | MUST VISIT TEMPLES OF VRINDAVAN

Believing in god is one thing; But somehow many of us have this dilemma deep inside, that whether god is true or not. I definitely believe in the power of positivity, but that nowhere proves that god exists or existed. But in India, the amount of belief that people have and stories which proves existence of god haven't been proven wrong till now. We have temples, where people believe that god still resides. It sounds a bit creepy but the fact that each story related to a particular temple has won over all the tests, makes them believable.

Vrindavan and Mathura are the places, which have a lot of temple's. It's like a hub of temples and there are temple in there where god still resides. In this series, we are exploring Vrindavan and I hope you have already read PART -1 of this series. If not then click here. That one will help you in knowing the way to reach there and how it could be more convenient.

Let's jump into the amazing places, that you have to visit, when in Vrindavan.

AMAZING TEMPLES OF VRINDAVAN:
  1. RADHA RANI TEMPLE:  "A place untouched by the modern world". This was my first impression of this temple. This is basically the place where, deity Radha resided. It had a water body in front of the temple. Where more then water, I could spot plastic bottles and other random stuff. People are like so busy these days, that instead of finding a dustbin they just throw garbage anywhere; BUT NOT IN THE DUSTBIN
AT LEAST SOME PART OF IT HERE LOOKS  CLEAN.

It was a very lively place, as you can spot a lot of random stuff. Jalebi in making and kachori's and what not. This place is still untouched and I am glad about that. As I really feel that places with some history should be kept the way it is. Doing it all over again takes away it's essence. What do you think?

2.BANKE BIHARI TEMPLE:  "IMPOSSIBLE"- This was our reaction when we saw the amount of people outside this temple. There were just people on one another and nothing on the street which led to the main temple. Even though we didn't wanted to hire any one for showing us the short cut, but we had too. My mom and aunt aren't that fit to handle such chaos around where people blindly push each other around.

Although the struggle was worth it.
So there is a saying that lord Krishna is really easy to please and thus it is said that lord Krishna himself resides in the sculpture in this temple; Stood up and got ready to go with a women, who looked at lord Krishna lovingly. Thus in this temple, curtains are opened and closed after every few seconds. Even the legs of the sculpture there are tied. This whole story and the beautiful sculpture of lord Krishna there makes this temple extra special. You just can't miss out on this one. If you are in Vrindavan then you just have to visit this temple and admire it's beauty.

Let me warn you, that there are a lot of monkeys out there. And I mean a lot!
So you have to be very careful around them, because they take things in seconds. That is why, I did not click much pictures here. As I can do without pictures but not without my camera. Be careful and yeah, do not wear your spectacles. As our guide told us that it's their favourite thing to take over. Except me, all three of my family members wear spectacles and this was made sure that "NO SPECTACLES IN FRONT OF MONKEYS". In fact we even witnessed this in front of our eyes. As the monkey took the spectacles of one uncle and broke it instantly.

Apart from this, you can enjoy a lot of food options there. Vrindavan has a lot of famous local delicacies, like kachori and peddha's and others. So do try them too when you visit this temple.

3.NIDHIVAN: This one is the most mysterious and the most talked about temple of Vrindavan. I have heard stories of this temple and I was very excited for this one in particular. So this temple is basically a forest of Tulsi. Which apparently were gopiyan (Lord Krishna's devotees). They were waiting for Lord Krishna there when he went to dwarika puri. He came back from there after 500 years and till then all gopi's turned into these tulsi trees.

Also the name VRINDAVAN, depicts that as VRINDA means Tulsi and VAN means forest.
It is said that god visits this place everyday and therefore gates of this temple gets closed at 6 p.m.

After 6, no living being is allowed to stay there. Even the animals, monkeys in specific does not stay here after 6. People who by mistake were there after 6 got mad or were not able to describe what they saw. It is said that Lord Krishna do Raasleela with deity radha and gopi's here. There are things which everyday turns upside down when the gates are re-opened in the morning. A lot of news channels have also tried and done their research here. And no one was able to find any signs of it being wrong or false.

This place is very mysterious and has a lot of strange things around it. There are so many incidents and proofs that god still come here. Frankly I get very excited at such places and I definitely want to know that whether it would always be untied or not. But till now, there is nothing which has proved the facts of this false.

So go there and definitely look around the place.. There is a small temple inside as well and also a place where supposedly dancing brings happiness. Definitely keep this temple on the top of your list, when you visit Vrindavan.

4. ISKCON: This is one brand, if I can call it which is known to one and all. There are a lot of iskcon temples in India. So the architecture and the way the temple looked here was quite similar. And if you aren't aware with the environment in iskcon, then let me tell you that it is the most mesmerizing experience you will ever have. We were lucky that when we went in there were god rhymes being sung there. It was amazing and one could not stop tapping feet listening to that. It is just amazing and really beautiful to witness.

This was one temple which had a very modern touch to it. Other temples are still very raw in the way they look to some extent. This one also had some small stalls for shopping and a bakery of its own. We were hungry enough to grab some kachori's from there. They were decent, but I feel that they can have more options. As there were more of processed food and even the kachori's looked as if they were there for last 2-3 hours. Prices were decent, but the quality part definitely needs some attention.

It was all dark till we reached this temple and in Vrindavan temples open and close at certain timings. So please do take care of that, as you may miss out on some of them because of timing issue. We did missed out on one of the famous temples-"PREM MANDIR". But we did got a glimpse of it from the outside. It looks gorgeous at night, because of the lighting. So if you visit this one then definitely go there at night and before it closes.

These are the five temples that are must to visit in Vrindavan. It was my first time there and I had a ball of a time. If you haven't visited this place yet, then do plan a trip to it. It has essence and rawness still alive there. You will definitely love the way it rolls.
