DANCING FEETS

Hello! What would you do if anyone tries to take away your dearest thing from you? Fight!
We need to fight to get it back, but with whom and how? That's a million dollar question. However, today a thirteen-year-old girl will answer it all. Let us become a part of her story and find out how she fought to get her thing back.

Mayra was an enthusiast! She was always full of curiosity and excitement for each and everything. Mayra! Teacher announced, present she said. It was her first day in the fifth standard and she was excited about the increment. She knew that in this class they get a chance to audition for the school dance team. She had already run away from her bharatnatyam class two years back. However, she was still interested in being a part of the dance team. She always wanted to experience everything, and then the day came in finally. The auditions were for the fair that was going to happen, and she went for it. Every girl of school was there to get a chance to be part of a dance act, but as there were many acts. She chooses to audition for the one where the in charge was the school dance teacher to make her chances bright to be in the school team. These functions auditions are open for all then she auditioned with ten other girls. Guess what! She got selected and impressed the teacher to become one of the lead dancers. She was on cloud nine, when dreams come true everything seems magical. Then the rehearsals began, she was doing great and performed fantastically on the main day.

Then these performances and being the lead dancer was an every time affair. She was enjoying this phase, she felt important and confident. Then when she auditioned for the school folk dance team, it was like a cakewalk for her to clear it. Then her engagement in those dance competitions and annual functions increased. She was enjoying every bit of it and no teacher ever had a problem with it because she was good in studies as well. Everything seems so perfect and at place but life does not work that way and soon her perfect shell was about to break. Two years passed with her keeping a balance between dance and studies. Fact is that she enjoyed every bit of it, because we all love the feeling of being wanted.
Then the annual function was again round the corner. However, this time the teacher was in a mood to experiment and decided to do a more western kind of dancing. Moreover, decided to audition again from the team as well, Mayra was excited about this and was confident too. Hey! Do you always get what you like? she faced rejection for the first time in this field. Soon she gathered herself and walked out off the room, in her way towards some silence. She met one of her friends, and started talking about what just happened to her. Then her friend said-"God doesn't close one door without opening another" (I think she copied it from bible) her words gave Mayra a new aspect of what happened. Mayra then decided to audition for other acts and then she was selected for one. This was just filler but she was happy being a part of the whole thing. As it was not a main act and thus they were asked to wear their casual clothes for the performance. They were informed about this a day before the main act and thus as soon as she returned from school she rushed. She couldn't find anything appropriate in the nearby market and then picked whatever she got.

She was about to step up on the stage, when a familiar voice from behind stopped her. It was the school in charge, what are you wearing Mayra she asked?
Mayra got confused and could not understand that what the matter was. You are not going to perform she said and gave a go to other girls. A teardrop reached her lips and she ran inside as fast as possible. Tears were all she had all over her face and a pain in her heart. She did not have the courage to step out and explain her mother the reason she was not on stage. But her mother's arms were all she needed and reached out to her. The moment she hugged her, all the strength she gathered was gone and she was crying her heart out. Her mother was not able to understand what happened, and decided to take her home. Then after reaching home, after few hours Mayra explained the whole scene.
Mayra could not sleep that whole night and was trying to find her fault. Nevertheless, she was not at fault at all, that night she decided to fight with herself. She decided to achieve, one of the prestigious position in school. She decided to get her hands on the team captain and school's cultural head position.

Her new journey began and she started working harder on her dance and performance. Soon she was an important member of the folk dance team. She performed at state level with the team and soon was the captain of the team. Step 1 was completed and now it was time to get her hands on the next thing. When she entered in eleventh standard, this was the time for the next step. An interview happened and then the dream a thirteen year old had fulfilled. The cherry on the cake was her getting this batch from the same in charge teacher. She never had any grudge against her but the incident, which took place. It had matured Mayra and taught to find the ways to make things happen. Having grudges is not going to make us successful but learning from each experience, definitely makes us one.
