A Mother's Optimism!!!

This time the story is going to be about a mother's optimism. A mother who fought against all the odds, to provide her children with a normal life .And never made them realize that yes, it is a bit hard for a woman to survive and make a living in the kind of society that we had earlier. Now slowly the perceptions and thinking is becoming a bit better, as compared to what it was earlier. So let us know about this mother more closely!

 On first of august 1970, one beautiful girl entered in the sahni family of Kanpur, and she was the fourth one after one son and two daughters in the family. From her childhood only she carried her charm and was everyone's favorite. May be the one most pampered in the family. She was always fearless, in terms of taking up challenges or may it be challenging herself, she was always ready and up for it.

However, life really changes in a fraction of seconds that is what happened when she lost her mother, when she was only 21 yrs. old. At this age in today's time, 21 yrs. old will probably be engaged in a fun-filled college life or parties. However, at that age, she has to take care of her whole house and her studies as well. Her elder sisters were married until that time, thus from food to cleaning everything was to be done by her. To her, that was the worst time of her life, but there were a lot more challenges and difficulties that were waiting for her. All this happened to her, when she was in Kanpur only, with family, under their shadow. However, soon she moved out of that shadow, as she got married to a Delhi person. She was excited about her new life in the new city. This was much more larger than life for our “KANPUR GIRL”. However, she was unaware of the things, which future was holding of her. Soon after only 2-3 yrs. of her marriage, she realized that the man she was married to was having some mental health issues. About which, she had no clue and later after that whole realization. As the joint family of the person was separated; and the only family business he was part off was separated. Thus, after that she was supporting her husband in his work. Along, while handling the children simultaneously but soon she realized that it was not working. The person has ruined all the business, and now they have lost the only source of income they had.

Then, as the person was not even educationally qualified, so the chances of him getting a job were almost zero percent. So at that point of time, our Kanpur girl took the charge and decided to search a job .So that she can manage to pay her children school fee and can fulfill the basic needs of them. There was a time, when on Diwali, there was no oil at home, to light up the diyas. She knew that things would not work this way and that she has to work.  

Soon our Kanpur girl was exposed to the world; she was totally unaware off. She had never stepped out of her home in search of a job. As, her father had a decent business in cloth industry. The same girl was walking on the streets of Delhi, with her 5 yrs. old daughter along and not to miss the sun, which was shining upon their heads. A girl from a small town like Kanpur, who has to adjust with the culture and lifestyle of a city, which is the capital of our Country;

But at that point of time, she was not at all thinking of all of that, the only thing which was going on in her mind was, that she has to fed her children, provide them with good education and all the luxuries she can give them. Then after going, so many place, in search of job. She finally got a job, which offered her 2500 rupees per month. At that point, of time, those 2500 rupees were like a life saving jacket for a drowning person. Suddenly, she realized all the inner strength she had and this happened with her optimism with was giving her strength to be persistent, which finally paid off. Then slowly as her experience grew in the field, her salary increased but so did her work. Due to increase in salary, the Kanpur girl was able to take her children at good restaurants often. However, the destiny still wanted to test the optimism of our Kanpur girl. As her workload also increased, so she also got late from work, as the distance from her house to the office was also a bit too much. So, the lame man sitting back home started telling stories to children that, there mother is enjoying out there and that's why she comes late from work. That is all a man, who was not even able to take care of his wife and children can do. Nevertheless, fortunately her children were smart enough to not to get into traps like these. As they knew, how much hard work there mother has put in to provide them with all those luxuries. As before her job and even after that they were beating the heat with those hand fans. As they, did not have an inventor in there. However, with her hard work, soon she managed to get an inventor in there, so that her children do not sleep in sweat. However, our optimistic mother got really tensed, as she did not want her children to misunderstand her .As they were really young and innocent, to fall in trap like these.

Therefore, she decided to take her children along on work on their holidays. So that they can see it all and know that, how she works all day and all those things that their father is telling are all a lie. I still wonder what it was; which was giving her the strength to do all of this. Now, I guess it was her optimism and her love for her children, which was giving her constant strength. As years passed, the results of her hard work became more fruitful. As, now they had a inventor, an A.C., a good quality TV (which wasn't even there earlier),a DVD player and then she even bought house on her own money. The journey was never easy, as there were constant roadblocks there for her. However, she was always there standing like a wall, to fight against everything and everyone. Then as the Kanpur girl’s, life is a roller coaster, so the ride did not end there also. Then, a conflict with one of the powerful builder of the area strikes her life. Nevertheless, the situation turned out to be difficult for the builder, as he did not knew that with whom he was messing around. Our Kanpur girl turned the situation all around with her intelligence and smartness. That the same person who was after her life, himself backed off and even invited them at his family function. A simple girl, from a small town will do all this and manage this way in a big city, is a bit unbelievable. However, optimism makes everything possible. Then she reached one more milestone in her life, when she bought car and was living in a house, she bought with her own money with her children. All looks like a dream or a movie story, but it's all true .She is still there on the ground working hard each day, as she still doesn't want to give up or let her children be burdened, I guess that's how mother's are. Her daughter is 20 yrs old now and son 19. However willing to start work, as soon as possible as of now the mother has done enough for the family. Moreover, they even do so; by performing some small jobs .To help their mother as much as possible. That is how; this girl from Kanpur concurred the world with her optimism.

  In the end, I would like to mention that please do not take away hatred against that man or anything, just see how the optimism of a women changed her and the lives of children.
